About The Event

In 2022, Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) celebrated the 100th anniversary of the department.  As part of the celebration, the department hosted a community day event featuring Police and Fire Displays, Food Truck Alley, Rides, Music, Face Painting, Magician, Inflatables, Public Safety K9 Displays, Live Demos, Community Performance Stage, MCP Motorcycle Skills Course, Community Resources and so much more!  The event was a great success and had an estimated attendance of 35,000 people!!!

This year the department seeks to recreate last year’s event with a slight twist! MCPD partners with Maryland State Police, Rockville City Police, Gaithersburg City Police, Chevy Chase Police, Takoma Park Police, Montgomery County Park Police, Sheriff’s Department and Fire and Rescues Services.  to form a new event, known as Public Safety Appreciation Day.
